Christmas Eve Worship, Nativity and Message

Our Program 6-8 PM

Our evening begins with a Potluck at 5:00, followed by our 'Christmas Eve Church Service' at 6 PM with musical Worship that features both congregational singing and special vocal and musical presentations. Our worship is followed by a Nativity Play. The Nativity Play is followed by a message, more singing and an 'After Birthday Party". The 'After Birthday Party" is an informal Karaoke time as families gather around the piano to express their joy.

Our Nativity

Our Nativity program is a classic retelling of the birth of Christ acted by Children and Adults. The leading roles are performed by our children and varies in content depending on the number of young actors who want to participate. Vocal solo performances by adults and the children make this a very special part of our Christmas message.

Auditions

Informal 'Auditions" will occur during the Sunday School time of regular church services during December. Children who desire speaking or singing parts will be given direction, song tracks to practice and lines to remember during the Sunday School time in December. All children who desire to be in the play will be members of the cast

Rehearsals

December during Sunday School and home practice for speaking and singing parts.

Performance Night

Potluck begins at 5:00 PM

Nativity Play Starts at approximately 7:00 PM

Program ends 8:00 PM starts at 8 PM

"After Birthday Party" starts at 8 PM

Characters

Mary and Joseph, Speaking and optional singing, memorization required
Wisemen. Open to boys and girls. Can be up to six (the Bible doesn't say how many were there) Reading from scrolls or memorization of simple lines.
Lambs. Cute costumes. Non-speaking parts

Angels

One or two Flying Angels. Each will be in one scene. Memorization of lines and no fear of heights required.
Non-flying Angels: Choir and Vocalist parts. Memorization of lyrics preferred, but song books will be available. Music tracks and song books will be provided for home practice.

Narrators

Voice over only and stage parts available. No memorization required. Up to six to nine narrators required.

Vocalists

Vocal performance material from the simplest (i.e. Silent Night) to the most difficult (i.e. Mary Did You Know or O Holy Night)
Both children and adults are encouraged to participate.
A combination of live music and vocal tracks to perform to.
